Miata NA 90-97 Carbon Fiber Fender Flare Version 1 - Sold as 4 pieces (1set)

Version 2 is smaller and is almost universal. Version 1 is bigger and more aggressive.


Instruction:

   Step 1 : drill holes (inside the slots)

   Step 2:  Tape the fenders

  Step 3: Allign tabs with the existing grove of the car

  Step 4:  Move flares left to right until the gap closes-up

  Step 5: Bolt or self-tap the flares temporarily to the fender

  Step 6: Draw a line above the flare

  Step 7: remove the flares and draw another line 1 inch below the first line drawn on the tape. Make sure the second line is drawn below the holes drilled for the bolts of the fender.

  NOTE: the second line must meet the stock wheel well arch as shown below. This will be the starting or end point of your cuts.

  Step 8: Cut the second line.  NOTE: Front fender has only 1 layer of metal sheet and flares should be ready to bolt-on after cutting.  Rear quarter panels are double layer and should look like the picture below after cutting. (inner metal sheet also needs several cuts about 2 inches from outside to inside of the fender, about 1.5  to  2 inches apart as shown in the picture)

  Step 9:  Hammer the metal sheet upward until it meets the outer metal sheet. You can either weld them together and cut the overlapping metal or simply fold it up (like the picture) and self-tap it temporarily `till your ready to weld it or have somebody weld it for you. Make sure you cover the cuts or holes with black silicone sealant (available in PEPBOYS) to avoid water from leaking inside. Then mount the flares back to the fenders. Make sure to cut overlapping metal to make the flares sit flush with the body.
